The Ring follows reporter Asakawa as she investigates a cursed videotape linked to mysterious deaths. After watching the tape, the viewer receives a phone call and dies within seven days. Asakawa races against time to uncover the truth about the tape's creator, Sadako, a vengeful spirit whose tragic death is the source of the curse.
