The Role of Fathers in the Fight Against Trafficking with Patrick Erlandson
Description
In episode seven of our #MenForEquality series, Savannah Severn interviews Patrick Erlandson, the founder of FatherCon, an organisation that aims to get fathers involved in the fight against human trafficking. They discuss how fathers serve as role models to sons on how to treat women, while fathers' relationships with daughters can set the stage for how she expects to be treated by men. They get real about how trafficking is often intra-community, with victims, perpetrators, but also those who can make a difference, being all local. They discuss how elevating meaningful connections and trust over short-term pleasure and (male) entitlement leads to more safety and happiness for all.
