The future of the Bond franchise was in question after the poor performance of The Man with the Golden Gun, meaning the next film needed to be a hit. This resulted in a much bigger budget and the team going all in for The Spy Who Loved Me, which sees Bond teaming up with KGB agent Anya Amasova to discover who is behind the disappearance of nuclear submarines. It's considered the peak of the Roger Moore era and the peak of the franchise for some but what will Tom & Joe think? Does it deserve the praise it gets or does the film lack bite?
