On September 19, 1976, Iranian Air Force pilots were scrambled to intercept a brightly glowing object reported over Tehran. As the jets approached, their instruments and weapons systems mysteriously failed. One pilot, Lt. Parviz Jafari, described a fast-moving, luminous craft and smaller objects that appeared to engage his aircraft.
