The Word Of God is the Spiritual thermostat that regulates our life and conduct. When the word of God becomes the final authority in your life, it  becomes your spiritual thermostat. You may keep changing but the Bible is your regulator. That’s the life God wants us to live! That’s how we become trustworthy vessels in the hands of the Master. 
Philippians 3: 16-18 - 16 Nevertheless, however much we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark those who so walk, as ye have us for an example.
18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even with weeping, as the enemies of the cross of Christ.
