Description

For day five of our residency at Maison Allianz, we turn our focus to the built environment. Allianz is a Worldwide Insurance Partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. We delve into the world of sports architecture, first with Kevin Owens, founder of Woo architects, which worked on several venues at the Games. Then: we speak with Jeff Burke, joint-CEO of ES Global, a moveable architecture firm that helped design 57 temporary sites in Paris. Plus: we ask Marie Barsacq, the executive director of impact and legacy for Paris 2024, what happens after the Olympics leave town. We also meet German track-and-field athlete Thomas Röhler; the head of Olympic Refuge Foundation, Jojo Ferris; and chef de mission for the Refugee Olympic Team, Masomah Ali Zada.
