In this episode, we have Jessie McGrath in our studio.  She was born in Colorado, grew up in Nebraska has been a prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office since 1988.  Her areas of expertise include consumer protection, cybercrime, narcotics, and juvenile law. Jessie is on the Board of Directors of APLA Health, the National Trans Bar Association, and TransCanWork. She is the happy parent of five children, three of whom will be lawyers. 

Jessie transitioned on the job 8 years ago and has been very open about her journey.  To her being transgender is like being a unicorn - so many people have never interacted with us, some people don’t believe that we exist but those who know us know that we are real and that we are very magical.
