The necessity of hell; Why God must punish sin
Update: 2025-09-07
Description
Revelation 20:11 –15 paints a solemn picture of God's final judgment where every person stands before the great white throne and the books are opened. This passage shows the seriousness of sin, because no one can escape the all-seeing eyes of God, and every deed—whether great or small—will be brought to light. Those whose names are not found in the Book of Life face the eternal reality of hell, the lake of fire, which is the just consequence of rejecting God's mercy in Christ. At the same time, heaven shines as the glorious hope for those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, whose names are written in the Book of Life. Thus, the text reminds us that sin leads to eternal separation from God, but faith in Jesus secures a place in heaven, urging us to live holy and prepared for eternity.
