The new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro continue an underrated tech trend

In mid-October, Apple finally pulled the wraps off its long-rumored MacBook Pro and iPad Pro updates. To the annoyance of some, I suspect, the only major change in both cases was the switch to an M5 processor. No new display technologies, no new form factors. Indeed, Apple didn't even bother upgrading the base MacBook Pro to standards like Wi-Fi 7 or Thunderbolt 5, despite the fact that those are included on other Apple devices. You'd think the company would be more concerned with futureproofing, or at least increasing the perceived value of going Pro.
