With the flats under threat by a state government plan for their total demolition and redevelopment, organisers and community groups have called a public meeting tonight from 6-8PM at the Capitol Theatre in Melbourne's CBD to sound the alarm. Tony Birch is an activist, historian and essayist, and is currently the Boisbouvier Chair in Australian Literature at the University of Melbourne.// Councillor Sophie Wade, representing Collingwood, joined to discuss the devastating cuts announced last week to cohealth services. cohealth announced two big changes that will impact community members in Collingwood, Fitzroy and Kensington: the closure of cohealth Collingwood in June 2026 next year, and the end of GP services at all sites. cohealth services some of our most marginalised community members. The lack of bulk-billing services and cuts to hospitals and health services in the area will leave almost 12,000 people to deal with the consequences. This comes after years of underfunding and cuts to cohealth services.
