Henry, Ignatius and Charity are fracture and trauma patients at different stages of recovery. From their stories, it is clear that in the event of another unfortunate case of a bone fracture, there is almost always a certitude that points to the Traditional Bone Setter as the first source of help, and for the often lengthy period of treatment that follows to healing. In this episode of The Scholastic-Ng Podcast, we look at the healthcare needs of fracture and trauma patients in Nigeria. We x-ray the many bones of contention between the Western trained and the traditional orthopedic practitioners particularly in relation to the quality of service that their patients receive.
