Looking forward to reading another book by Liebert.
This was my first book by Emily Liebert. The first couple of chapters started a bit slowly in my opinion, but it picked up quickly. The 3 main characters were interesting & very different from one another. As I read, I would change my mind about which character I liked best. They all had their share of faults. I was excited to learn their secrets! They were not what I expected. I had a little difficulties relating to some of the behavior, such as excessive drinking, but maybe my life is a bit quiet! Overall, I thought it was an easy read and entertaining book and I would definitely consider reading another book by Liebert.

Fresh and authentic
This was my first Emily Liebert book and I really enjoyed it. Her development of flawed characters and portrayal of womenâs issues and at times very conflicted relationships is fresh and authentic. It left me with the same satisfaction I feel when Iâve been able to sink below the superficial and really talk genuinely to a friend. I look forward to more from this author.

Thought it would be better.......
I thought this book would be better. I realize that this is the respective women's stories, but the male characters were so flat and their reactions to their partners' secrets were so unemotional (except maybe Hugh, but we didn't even hear him speak) that they made the secrets seem inconsequential and dull.

Yet another tale about women with secrets
Books about women with life-altering secrets seem to proliferate. Each story seems to take place when one woman, in this case, Sloane, needs a respite from her husband and daughter and invites her good friends, Hillary and Georgina, to her aunt's house on Lake George. Although Sloane considers the other two women to be her best friends, Hillary and Georgina have never met.
Perhaps the secret each woman carries like a yoke around her neck should shock me, but I have read about the same secrets so many times that they are predictable. Having a baby, not wanting a baby, searching for exciting love from an old beau, discovering old beau happened to find Sloane's best friend out of all the women in Paris (that really stretches credulity) - mix and match and, voila, a new book is born.
Despite predicting the outcome, I read the entire book, hoping for a surprise.
