Tiktok, YouTube, and the Power of Questions #539
Description
TikTok, YouTube, and the Power of Questions #539
A lot has been going on in my life lately — some of it professionally, some not. I’ve been creating a boatload of content, interestingly enough, on TikTok. Why?
Years ago, a woman recommended Tiktok to me, saying, “You should TikTok. You have things to say, and there are people there who want to hear it.”
So I finally started in March 2025, with my first post quoting Bob Dylan: “When the rooster crows at the break of dawn, look out your window and I’ll be gone. You’re the reason I’m traveling on — don’t think twice, it’s alright.”
That post was for Sales Babble; it’s time for me to travel on.
TikTok is the platform where I find inspiration with each post: something I appreciate, something that perturbs me, but always something hopeful. The posts are short and more engaging when people can see me rather than just hear me. After a month, I have discovered the best ones were those that asked thoughtful questions — questions that invite self-reflection, which matters deeply to me because I believe human growth comes from self-awareness. The better we understand ourselves, the better we can learn to modify, stop, or accept behaviors — and in time, that leads to happiness, peace, and satisfaction.
In doing these TikToks, I’m getting hundreds and hundreds of views, similar to Sales Babble — perhaps even more so. And I’ve been generating a wealth of comments: many supportive, others not so much. But that’s proof I’ve been successful in staying in the middle of the road — my natural lane in life, as the Taoists teach:
“Those who try to control, ruin it. Those who try to grasp, lose it. The sage avoids excess, extravagance, and arrogance.”
I’m surprised sometimes by the pushback these posts receive, but it’s highly entertaining — and I believe I’m onto something. Today, I’d like to share a few of these with you. Watch here.
