Update: 2025-11-10
Description
Meet the TinyGPU v2.0: A Miniature Graphics PowerhouseThe TinyGPU v2.0, a standalone unit capable of rasterization, transformation, and lighting, has been unveiled. Created by amateur designer Pongsagon Vichit, it boasts impressive advancements for its size, featuring around two hundred thousand transistors. The device, submitted to the Tiny Tapeout shuttle, can display up to sixteen simultaneous colors at a resolution of 320x240 pixels with four-bit color. Despite its early 1980s-era graphics, it uses advanced GPU transformation and lighting technology, first seen in consumer products with Nvidias GeForce 256 in 1999. This project showcases the potential of miniature computing and inspires future developments in compact hardware.
