Tips on Caring for Your Aging Dog
Update: 2019-02-01
Description
On today's episode I chat with Dr Kate Pittman, a "house call" veterinarian in Greater Boston for almost 30 years. I like the fact she views veterinary care as including not only the technical aspects of treating illness and supporting recovery, but caring for the whole pet and the family as well. She co-authored the book Stand by Me: Caring for Your Aging and Ailing Dog." I read it and highly recommend you do as well. You may also want to consider getting one for a senior dog parent you know. The best way for me to describe it is a handbook to help you navigate your pup's old age.
Dr Pittman recommended an incontinence product during the podcast but it wasn't clear so here it is. It's called Incurin, which is a form of estrogen that doesn't cause bone marrow problems that some estrogens do.
