Reddit has gone to war against API monetisation. Thousands of subReddits have gone dark in defiance of the decision to charge a fee from third-party app developers for ‘premium access’ to the platform’s API.
It is not the only platform to stir up the conversation around API pricing. Twitter too has cut off free access to its APIs, shuttering third-party app developers.
