Description

With the Northwest being left behind, toll hikes on ten national roads are set to hit drivers from January 1st, 2026.

The increases, including on the M50 and Dublin Port Tunnel, come despite extra Exchequer funding for road maintenance in Budget 2025.

Families and commuters are already struggling with rising fuel, insurance, and energy costs.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Cllr Mulvey says, “It’s simply unfair to keep hitting motorists with more costs while the West of Ireland sees no real benefit from these increases.”
