Description

Aloha!

Welcome to the first episode of the Travellers Ukulele Gig Guide podcast a place of community connection where my guests are invited to share uketastic experiences through story and if we’re very lucky, song! Podcasting is a artform. I’m using it’s relaxed conversational style to bring us together as if we're sharing a cuppa or a cocktail and a chat while we watch the sun set. My formula is simple. I talk to people about travel and ukulele. On one hand each yarn is unique but on the other hand each individual story weaves itself into a bigger picture of human camaraderie and the mateship found amongst ukulele players across the world.

In this introduction I share a little about myself from my humble beginnings in New Zealand to the present day. I then provide an abridged overview of what to expect in Season 1 - The South Pacific. I say abridged because there is sooooo much great content in the series it would defeat the purpose of having an episode if I dished out all the details now.

If you love: ukulele, people, travel, jamming etc etc - I warmly invite you to step into this weekly podcast to hear stories from those who are already on the road well travelled.

I hope you'll listen to the full 10 minute episode and provide feedback about the yarn. Remember, I am not aiming for perfection but connection so please keep your feedback positive and help me to build something strong and vibrant.

The backing track provided are original songs written and performed by myself and Alison Skardon recorded as The Jazzuleles (details below):

  • 2020,MANGO PICNIC - EP TITLE TRACK

  • 2021,FLIGHT - TRACK 1 , ASPIRE

  • 2020,SPARKLE - TRACK 5, MANGO PICNIC

  • 2021, STEVIES SOUL'SA - TRACK 2, ASPIRE

I'm releasing a new episode every Wednesday morning. Please subscribe or follow so you don't miss a yarn. If you'd like to be apart of this collaboration please contact Shirley-Ann at the Travellers Ukulele Gig Guide Facebook Group or leave a comment for me to follow up.

It brings me much joy to share this work with you. I hope it adds fun, music and friendship to your life. Stay well travellers and thanks for listening.

Aloha.
