Description
Two inmates at Spokane County Jail died from suspected drug overdoses, following a similar incident in neighboring Kootenai County. Authorities believe the inmates may have received fentanyl through mail packages. The Spokane County Medical Examiners Office is investigating, and Detention Services has deployed Narcan thirty-eight times this year to combat overdoses.
