The Bureau of Labor Statistics released the long-delayed September 2025 Employment Situation Report on Thursday, showing nonfarm payrolls rose by 119,000 - more than double the consensus forecast of 50,000 jobs. Private-sector employment drove nearly all of the gain (+97,000), led by health care (+43,000) and construction (+19,000). Average hourly earnings increased 0.2% month-over-month and 3.8% year-over-year.
