"incredulity" and "outrage" would be my choice of words if I was a prosecutor.
What do the other witnesses say? Also did the mom have the receipt? That should be trackable... She said she did, or did she?
I'm not sure that was the best direction for the story -- police and prosecutorial corruption and incompetence are well known and not surprising. Were I the producer, I would have focused on "Ron-Don" and how he could live with himself for 35 freaking years knowing that he is largely responsible for three innocent men being incarcerated. Perhaps I could sympathize with a teenager doing that under such circumstances, but when he turned 21? 30? 40? 50 years old and did NOTHING?!
