One of the greatest bands to ever do it came to fruition in 1974 and their name was Van Halen. Most fans say the band has two eras. The Van Halen era and the Van Hagar era. Diamond David Lee Roth was the exhilarating frontman of the band until his departure in 1985 to pursue a solo career, just one year after the release of their most successful album to that point (1984). Then  Sammy Hagar came walking in. Together the band capitalized on the previous success of the band and within a year they released their first album since Roth’s departure (5150), which catapulted the band to #1 on the charts.
