We are talking about none other than the inspiration for dracula himself...Vlad the Impaler.
Vlad III was the bloodthirsty 15th Century King of Walliachia, in present day Romania. Vlad's preferred execution method was to impale his victims on long poles and put them on display for all to see in front of his castle. He is responsible for the executions of thousand of Ottomans and his own subjects.
