Vulnerabilities sit at the center of almost every cybersecurity story people read about today. A vulnerability is a weakness in hardware, software, or a process that an attacker can misuse to cause harm. When organizations understand their vulnerabilities clearly, they can fix the most dangerous ones before someone takes advantage of them in the real world. When they do not understand them, small weaknesses quietly build up until one incident becomes unavoidable and very costly.
