Western Australias weekend was marred by severe thunderstorms, causing widespread power outages and disrupting daily life. Over 150,000 customers lost electricity, with more than 20,000 still without power on Monday. The storm damaged infrastructure, including power lines and equipment, and even impacted the Big Bash League season opener. Western Power, the states electricity provider, is working to restore power and collaborating with Telstra to maintain telecommunications services.
