They also need the same scenario that benefits Texas Tech: losses by Arizona State, Utah, and Houston this weekend.

A BYU win over Cincinnati would move them to 7-1. If the three main two-loss contenders (ASU, Utah, and Houston) all move to three losses, BYU’s superior head-to-head win over Utah would give them the tiebreaker advantage needed to lock up the second spot alongside Texas Tech.
