Within The Movies Episode 4

After the earth shattering ending of Infinity War, we're treated to the next chapter in line in the MCU with Antman and The Wasp! Directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena, Antman and The Wasp is a prequel that takes place before Infinity War and after Civil War where we see the geng deal with the fallout from Civil War and the life-altering mission of rescuing Janet Van Dyne from the Quantum Realm! I'll be giving my thoughts on the movie and how it stacks up againts the previous MCU movies!

Today's shownotes would be as follows:

Impressions

Mixed bag - A movie that is set just before infinity war with a convoluded story arc and villains. Enjoyed it but a messy movie compared to the recent success of the MCU. Not a lot at stake

What I like

A funny movie.

As a connected cinematic movie, you would discover why and where was Antman when Infinity War happened – that end credit scene! Felt like got punch twice!

Characters

Hope Van Dyne!

Paul Rudd – Charming, Loveable criminal

Antman’s connection to Cassie lang – his daughter

The visuals were jaw-dropping – eg Janet and hank in their youth, The quantum realm

What I don’t likeDisappointed

Too many villains – sloppy writing, not focused

Should’ve focus on Janet Van Dyne

Story Wise – A smaller scale movie compared to infinity war

As a movie itself, its charming as it continues where the first antman movie left out but was let down by its storywriting

Janet Van Dyne – One dimentional

Ghost – a blur (literally!)
