Description
The Washington Capitals acquired center Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for goalie Darcy Kuemper, resulting in salary cap savings for the LA Kings. Kuemper is expected to take the lead as the No. 1 goalie for the Kings, with David Rittich also set to receive considerable playing time. Shepard and Lindgren are valued prospects for the Washington Capitals' goaltending position. Lindgren provided the Capitals with capable goaltending, posting a .910 save percentage and a 2.65 goals against average in his last ten games of the regular season. Additionally, Hunter Shepard had a remarkable season in the AHL, leading in goals-against average and save percentage, and making his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals.
