What Europe Must Learn from the INF Treaty of 1987

Description
On 8 December 1987, the US and the USSR signed the INF Treaty. This treaty reduced the nuclear threat to Europe by obliging both parties to destroy all nuclear weapons with a range between 500 and 5,500 kilometres, and to refrain from developing new missiles.
Today, the task for European leaders is to understand how this breakthrough was achieved and what lessons can be learned for the current focus on ending the war in Ukraine.
