What did 2024 tell us about US voters?
Update: 2024-12-31
Description
At the start of 2024, many expected Joe Biden and Donald Trump to run against each other in November. Biden aimed to campaign on a strong economy, but voters were critical of his handling of foreign affairs, especially the Gaza war. The deaths of thousands of Palestinians led to protests and fewer Democratic votes in swing states. Biden's age became an issue, leading Kamala Harris to replace him. Despite early enthusiasm, Harris could not defeat Trump, whose campaign gained momentum after two assassination attempts. Trump won the presidency and began preparing to deport millions of undocumented residents and threatened a government shutdown. His administration is set to take a different approach to foreign and domestic policies compared to Biden's term.
