What does it mean to exist as you are?
Description
Welcome back, friends! After a brief hiatus, Annabelle & Jamie are ready for a collective catch-up. They begin talking about the beauty of interruptions, how to avoid grad school burnout by leaning into cohort community care, & Annabelle goes on a tangent about mama sea wolves & their puppies to emphasize the importance of putting aside differences for the betterment of the individual & pack. Jamie can't get a word in edgewise as Annabelle keeps proving the beauty of interruptions by excitedly interrupting like a proper neurodivergent. Together, Jamie & Annabelle talk about addressing external & internal conflicts to live in alignment with personal principles. Annabelle compliments Jamie's gorgeous lashes, which leads to Jamie reflecting on jumpstarting a new spiritual practice (versus intellectual practice) that emphasizes embodiment & self-care. Annabelle asks Jamie what she's learned so far on this journey & Jamie expands that she's in a place of imaginary problems, that she finds many interpersonal issues to arise from perceptual differences, & how external triggers can be seen as invitations to dive into deep inner work. Jamie says her deepest spiritual desire is to know herself & feel at peace with her inner world. With this, Annabelle wonders about holding things in until they demand to be addressed (as a cautionary tale to prevent burnout & meltdowns!). Jamie theorizes that there aren't good models for inner work in American society but that we find ourselves in relationships with others who are similarly committed to this work. Suppose you hear one thing from this episode, hear how tending to your internal world is essential—you are worthy as you are!
