The ego’s delusion lies in its conviction that “it knows”. This “knowing” closes the mind, leaving no room for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. But when we admit, “I don’t know,” the walls of the self-concept fall away. The mind becomes open and receptive. In that surrendered not-knowing, a holy space opens — a spacious stillness where Spirit can enter and offer true knowledge.

In A Course in Miracles, Jesus says, “Resign now as your own teacher.” That’s exactly what this line embodies: the invitation to hand over our judgments and interpretations so that divine wisdom can see and speak through us. The realisation that we don’t know is not ignorance — it is the doorway to wisdom!
