Overarching the entire story of Isaac's family is God's sovereign will. It will happen one way or another. No one and nothing could stop it. The issue is how are we going to respond to the will of God when it is revealed to us. Whenever we do something that delights Him, that in itself is success. To do the opposite is a failure.
Whenever we seek God's will and do God's way, we do right. Whenever we ignore God's will and do things our way, we do wrong.
