Description
In addition to meticulously developing the story with Roz and Brightbill, "The Wild Robot" also includes other island residents on Soap2Day. These people learn from the machine and put aside their differences in order to secure life in a future where the threat of climate change is a common occurrence. Sanders moves the plot forward a little too quickly, which makes the movie a little too bottom-heavy in terms of the villainy that is added at the end. The film makes do with less of a hurried point of pressure, content to navigate through more intimate zones of protection and connection. This gives Roz and Brightbill's relationship a charming arc as the mother observes her son as he attempts to find his place in the world. Sanders creates an engaging and poignant portrayal of Brown's story of survival and connection.
