Why Does Madison Have So Many Turkeys?
Description
Wild turkeys were nearly hunted to extinction in Wisconsin in the late 19th century. But now, it’s a great time to be a wild turkey in the Dairy State. Thanks to conservation efforts in the 1970s, wild turkeys are back and have adapted to our urban environment better than ever. UW-Madison wildlife ecology Professor David Drake joins host Bianca Martin to dive into the lives of the turkeys all around us.
