This is from Srimad Bhagavatam 10th Canto and describes how Garuda the great carrier bird servant of Lord Vishnu beats Kaliya the many hooded snake mercillessly and tells about old enimity between these mighty birds and snake. Further it describes why it went to Yamuna.
