Why is growing up making us Sadder?

Description
Growing up I have this tendency to get sadder. I've been through series of obstacles and delimmas, I strongly fear that it may not get any better in the future. It's in my nature to interpret things with much more depth to them. Change, aging, graduation, breakups, and fallout. I'm the most sensitive person in the room. I process these things longer than the people I know which has always made me wonder if life is getting better for me from here on.
I hope not.
