Why we Sometimes Sabotage our Dreams
Description
Self-sabotage is the behavior we sometimes do when we act in a way that interferes with our own goals, success, or well-being. It is often done subconsciously, and it can include behaviors like procrastination, comfort eating, or starting unnecessary conflict. It usually comes from self-worth issues that are created in childhood, and can create feelings of defeat and hopelessness.
In this episode, Ali and Tiarra share what it is like to sabotage your own dreams. Each co-host has experienced self sabotage in different ways, and in each of them it came from different places. This destructive behavior if left unchecked, can lead to demoralization and depression, but it can be overcome with self awareness of the behavior and an understanding of why you are doing it. It is usually the brain's way of maintaining control over outcomes, because if you sabotage the outcome, then you can't be harmed or disappointed and are "safe."
