You Can Be Country (feat. Amythyst Kiah)
Description
“I've had so many different ways that I've described my music,” says singer-songwriter Amythyst Kiah, “but it’s always been important to me, to allow myself to explore.” That’s exactly what she’s doing on her latest EP, Pensive Pop—bringing new life and depth to pop-rock songs like Green Day’s “Hitchin’ A Ride” and Katy Perry’s “Chained To The Rhythm” in ways that draw out the soulful heart of those tunes. In this episode, Amythys Kiah and Margo Price dig into how therapy has deepened her songwriting, the expansiveness of the country genre and Kiah’s predictions for the future of the country music scene.
