Sheila Melody is a Health and Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer and Owner of a strength training studio in Los Angeles and the Creator and Host of the Sound Mind & Body podcast. A true exercise advocate since the age of 13 when she signed up for cheerleading in the 8th grade, Sheila has evolved through the world of American fitness, as she describes it, “since before they were requiring you to wear shoes in the group classes – (seriously!)” From Jane Fonda and Billy Blanks to Bikram and Power Yoga, Pilates, and Cardio Barre, she has experienced a broad spectrum of exercise techniques and styles.
Certified as a Power of 10 Strength Training Instructor in 2010, Sheila has since focused on the unique specialty of designing slow motion high intensity strength-training workouts to match each client’s specific needs. “Strength is health,” Sheila explains, “No matter what you are doing, having more strength benefits everyone and is a vital aspect of physical well being.”
Understanding that health and wellness encompasses mind, body and spirit, Sheila started her own wellness podcast, Sound Mind & Body with a mission to explore and share intriguing, entertaining, enlightening and informational topics and experiences about the many facets of health, wellness and spirituality. In each episode she interviews inspiring people and discusses different ways to stay healthy, balanced and well of mind, body and spirit -- with a dash of woo-woo!
What exactly is woo-woo? Sheila believes that we all define that differently, and she has a passion for discovering and sharing each guest’s most woo-woo moment in their lives. She has recently celebrated her first year of podcasting, and plans to continue and expand into online courses and health coaching in 2019.
