أتيني، اشتهرت باستضافتها لفعالية مفروش بين الأعوام 2012 و 2015. مفروش هو فعالية ثقافية واجتماعية لبيع وتبادل الكتب المستعملة والجديدة، مصحوبة بحفلات موسيقية.

Atine, An iconic square in Khartoum, Known for hosting Mafroosh between 2012 and 2015. Mafroosh is a cultural and social event for selling and exchanging books, accompanied by small musical events. As part of our interest in “Documenting Spatial Narratives” in Khartoum. We interviewed Mohammed Abouelila, a member of Abu El-Ela family that owns the Abu El-Ela commercial building. Abouelila walks us through the history of Atine, the nature of activities held in the space, and how it has changed through time.
