This week I talk about the four responses to traumatic events; fight, flight, fawn and freeze. We talk about freeze mostly since it’s the response most people use. We then discuss how important it is to “take back”
our environment for stronger mental health. Mental Health is not a mental condition, in my opinion, it’s a body in itself that must be cared for, treated like medical condition, respected as you would your body’s own health. You can make your mental health stronger just like your body. Your anxiety, your ptsd, your depression can be treated naturally with removing toxic relationships and environments, feeding it with health thoughts and treating with mounds of fresh perspectives. It’s your soul really. That emotional body you struggle with inside your heart and mind. A mental health diagnosis doesn’t have to be terminal, like today’s DMS-5 would dictate. Proper treatment starts with acknowledgment and doesn’t necessarily fit the standard of care by most medical or mental health professionals. Do what feels right and don’t apologize for taking your power back.
