Today we'll talk about Taiwan's springtime flower season and which spots you can visit to enjoy the beautiful sights.
As the pandemic situation begins to ease and countries gradually open up, winter ends, and Taiwan's spring flower season arrives. Let's take a look at some of the places you can go to enjoy the springtime blossoms.
First, let's visit Meifeng Farm in Nantou, where the peach blossom season is in full swing. Meifeng Farm is located in a climate that covers subtropical, temperate, andr sub-frigid zones, making it ideal for planting a wide variety of plants. Since there is very little wind here year-round, it is also known as "no wind" in Chinese. There are various kinds of flowers grown here, such as violets, lily-of-the-valleys, and tulips. Additionally, there's a beautiful peach blossom corridor where the trees form a Y-shaped arrangement. The peach blossoms are gorgeous and dreamy, making for perfect photo opportunities.
Next up is the cherry blossom season in Alishan, Chiayi. During this period, the mountains are surrounded by various shades of pink, white, and peach-colored flowers in the Alishan National Scenic Area and Forest Recreation Area. Once the oldest Alishan divine tree blooms, other cherry blossoms will gradually blossom as well. In Alishan, there's a cherry blossom trail that's only 130 meters long, but the scenery is enchanting. There's also the Three-Generations Cherry Blossom Path, where a giant red cypress tree has grown from the same root for three generations. This spot has always been one of Alishan's most popular cherry blossom viewing sites. Walking along this trail allows you to see a variety of cherry blossoms in bloom. Here's a little secret - there's a tea plantation called Linji Tea Mountain beside Alishan that's covered in lush green tea bushes, and some cherry trees are blooming nearby, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy nature.
Apart from enjoying the flowers, what other exciting things can you do in Alishan? You can hop on the most famous Alishan Forest Railway!Both the main line and the branch line offer views of various plant species that change with altitude.
I want to introduce you to the beautiful Alocasia plants in Zhuzihu, Yangmingshan. First, there are two areas to see these plants: the lower lake area and the upper lake area. Let me first take you to the upper lake area, where you can find the Ming Yang Pu Leisure Farm.
In addition to these beautiful flower spots, there are also some recommended restaurants to satisfy your hunger. The Guan Chen Restaurant is one of them and they have two signature dishes that you should try. The first is the White Cut Chicken, which is made by boiling the chicken in hot water or broth and then seasoning it.
