A part of Gelsenkirchen is known as the home of FC Schalke 04, but offering so much more beyond football. This vibrant city harmoniously blends art, leisure, and industry. The 1960s brought significant transformation to Gelsenkirchen. Former mines evolved into recreational areas and cultural sites, while old railway tracks were repurposed into scenic cycling routes, keeping the city's heritage alive. Ah, by the way: the strange dishes from the culinary sections are called "Taxiteller". Try it for the extra food power for an overtime game.
