While they started off strong, things took a wrong turn very...very fast. After countless years in development hell, and despite Sony’s arrangements with Marvel Studios, Avi Arad finally got his day in the sun as VENOM finally released in theaters in 2018. The film itself has been panned by critics, yet has found an overwhelming amount of support from audiences, grossing around $800 million worldwide. After the failure of the Amazing Spider-Man films, and the firing of Andrew Garfield, Sony was in shambles. However, things started looking up for them once they signed a deal with Marvel to put the character in the MCU, rebooting him once again. After making a thunderous and widely acclaimed debut in 2016’s CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Tom Holland’s iteration of the character has his first solo film released a year after. While the film had widespread critical and audience praise, some fans questioned whether or not it really understood the character. So, tune in and sync up as Brian and Alec revisit the second reboot of the character in 2017’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING!
