Remember while we choose to pursue positivity for ourselves, spreading it to others is the true joy.  We can't imagine what someone who is suicidal may be feeling.  Having what seems like too frequent an encounter with the sudden death of others, this podcast attempts to address how we may be able to contribute in helping someone's outlook.YouTube clip sample from:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdRNQLi5Mqwstarting at 2:24, Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Good Will HuntinSupport the show
Have you ever shut someone down immediately for saying something you oppose?  Has it ever been someone you may have loved, admired, almost idolized in some cases?  This is a quote from an academic I have such admiration for, and yet I found myself doing the same thing, in terms I used to use "non ciphering" Cornel West, who has been a huge influence in my own philosophy.  His quote “We have to recognize that there cannot be relationships unless there is commitment, unless there is loyalty, unless there is love, patience, persistence"  actually addresses what relationships are made of and made me self examine my own outlook.  I hope it does the same for you!Support the show

Understand why on earth a black man, one who KNOWS his roots and comes from Brooklyn would want to become a police officer?   Go on to become an undercover narcotics officer, then work with the counter terrorism unit?  If that's not enough, he works for the FBI as part of the FBI/NYPD joint task force, and is currently the head of security for the NY Nets (no he's not available for ticket requests....or refunds since it is the Nets lol).    Hear some hair raising tales first hand, understand the experience of institutional racism directly from his mouth and even understand why some of our listeners MAY want to follow his path, and what it took for him to take it.  For some light hearted fun, check out the clip from myself and Fred Galloway not realizing we're going live after we recorded the episode :)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVsZ4Gj2qJM*Music by Will Comment**Artwork by N. Although we hear a lot about depression on TV, the radio and internet can you spot it when it's right in front of your face?  I didn't.  And neither did any of my other family members when it came to Brendon Johnson, while he was in college!!!!!On this episode listen to what depression feels like and the drastic choices which are made so their voice can be heard!  A truly vulnerable account from "the horses mouth" so to speak, and  at least some things not to do as well as how to deal with it from one perspective.*note* there are parts of the interview without the sound quality we would usually provide, this episode was so spontaneous, I decided to publish it as is, thank you for your understanding.Music by Will CommentSupport the show
