This episode is all about our mental health. So what do we mean by mental health, how we've been coping during the pandemic and what to look out for. Joining Dr Kathryn Cobain, are Carole Cumino from the Worcestershire Association of Carers, Sarah Taylor Robinson and  Matt Lammas both from the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust. We also have from On-side Advocacy Taryn Hill and Megan Altindas.  At the end we also have a special recording from our own Paul Kinsella.  As well as being a member of the public health team, he's also a yoga teacher.  He's' kindly recorded a short breathing session, which he says can help with relaxation. As mentioned in the podcast, Action for Happiness have produced an Optimistic October calendar, which you can find here https://www.actionforhappiness.org/calendars
All adults are now able to get the vaccine.  In the last few weeks we have seen lots of young people coming forward to get their jabs but there are lots of questions too. In this episode Dr. Kathryn Cobain is  talking to two young people about how they feel about the vaccine and what it means to them.
In this episode, we are celebrating International Women's Day and the roles some of the women in Worcestershire have played in responding to Covid-19. Joining Kath for this edition are Carole Cumino, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Association of Carers, Susan Harris, Executive Director for Strategy and Partnerships for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust and Rachel Hill, Assistant Director for Economy, Major Projects and Waste for Worcestershire County Council.
In this episode, Dr Kathryn Cobain chats to two of Worcestershire’s next generation about how they have been coping during the pandemic. The under 30’s have often been blamed in the pandemic for the spread of Covid-19. But this is an age group which has also suffered from the effects of the pandemic. Younger people have lost jobs, had education disrupted, lost loved ones and like everyone else have had to press pause on their social lives, which has affected their wellbeing. Ellie Dart is the county’s Young Poet Laureate. She was commissioned to create a poem sharing the thoughts and feelings of younger people in the pandemic. This has now been turned into a short film. Ellie joins Kath to talk about the poem and how she got her inspiration. Joe French is a university student, taking an internship with Worcestershire County Council as part of his year out. He is from Nottinghamshire and talks about being away from home during the pandemic and sticks up for all the young people doing their bit as part of the response, who rarely get a mention. Don’t forget to share this episode on social media to spread the message.
