In this conversation, we learned more about the cyber transformation San Antonio has experienced over the years, the latest in  K-12 and higher education cyber initiatives, and his advice on getting started with volunteering.Bobby Blount is an engineer currently serving as The MITRE Corporation Cyber Operations Innovation and Partnership Lead and the San Antonio Site Leader. Bobby has received national, state and local recognitions for his community support efforts and initiatives. With 23 years of school board service, he currently serves as Chair or President of the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund, Bexar County School Boards Coalition, Go Public Campaign and Dragons Soccer Club.
Join Deron as he sits down with one of our nation's great cyber experts, Mr. Bob Butler, to hear insights from his distinguished career in information technology, intelligence, and national security that spans 34 years in both public and private sectors.Mr. Butler previously served as the first Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Cyber Policy. In this role, Mr. Butler acted as the principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense and other Defense leaders on the development of cyber strategy and policy. Mr. Butler is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and a former member of the Defense Department’s Senior Executive Service. He also serves as a fellow at the Center for New American Security (CNAS) and is a member of the Texas State Cyber Security, Education and Economic Development Council.
