As a young engineer, Dave discovered that his boss was simply assigning him to random projects that came across his desk...plugging holes in the program to assure the machine ran smoothly while disregarding the interest of the team. "First you need to develop what your strategy is, how are you going to communicate with that customer and at what levels and as you do that? And also what’s the message you want to convey to your customer? And that depends what the customer values are, so think about their values and what it is that you provide that supports those values and then that’s the message you want to communicate up and down the chain within your customer organization." - Dave Buis The customer contact plan is critical to maintaining a solid connection with your customer from the owner of the company to the delivery drivers that will transport the product.
