Risk Management
Description
Risks and Opportunities lurk around every corner for program managers, the important factor is to understand the difference between the two in order to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks. Dave breaks down his thought process on managing these risks while pointing out that sometimes risks are really just opportunities that need to be approached from a different angle, showing us that the perspective we take is the most important factor in the process.
"It’s really critical to understand your risks in order to execute the program otherwise it’s going to come back to bite you and the opportunities are a great way of capturing new funds or achieving schedules or offsetting the risks that you have on the program. As we identify the opportunities we need to track them because they will change over time. The probabilities will change and the consequence will change."
